Rammed earth on fire - Benevento’s local community receives barbecue facility

After four weeks of training, building, explaining, redesigning and sharing, it is finally possible to use the barbecue facilities that AK0 designed as output of the practical exercise of workshop Design and Build with Prefabricated Rammed Earth.

The team of trainees and tutors together with the responsible of Orto di Casa Betania decided to dedicate the last day of workshop to officially deliver the built structures to the local community. A stress test for the newly completed barbecue facility seemed to be the best way to celebrate the moment.

Benevento and its outskirts showed themselves from their best side with guest bringing local wine, sausages, and other typical food to share. Even the specifically designed hook for the “caciocavallo 'mpiccato”, the so called hanged cheese proved to work in the right way.

A second fireplace which is part of the bench element called “terra” became the gathering point after sunset with curious people reaching the spot and singing, sharing a glass of wine while asking about the potentials of building with raw earth.
