Design and Build with Prefab Rammed Earth

Design and Build with Prefab Rammed Earth, a 4 week building workshop in Fattoria Social Orto di Casa Betania, Benevento, Italy.
Build in a more technical approach prefab rammed earth structures to support the activities of the social farm Orto di Casa Betania.
The workshop will be a 20% theoretical - 80% practical training of 4 weeks, divided in two thematic blocks, during which we will build some outdoor kitchen facilities to support farm activities.
Rammed earth will be pushed to a more the technical dimension introducing concepts of Prefabrication.
The hands-on training on the building site will be complemented by theoretical sessions in which we will learn more in detail about the following topics:
- Building with Earth
- Rammed Earth Principles
- Formwork
- Prefab Rammed Earth Basics

Once we receive your application and confirm your registration, we will send you the information on how to proceed with the payment.
According to the calendar announced by the government concerning COVID-19, there shouldn’t be any restriction avoiding the workshop to take place in July, at least for national participants. Even though we would be obliged to cancel the workshop, the fees will be reimbursed to each participant.

News from the workshop
AK0 – architettura a kilometro zero has been founded as a non-profit organization in 2014 after five years of informal activity in the field of sustainable architecture.
Its associates are mainly architects but the organisation's network includes students, structural engineers, energy consultants, social educators, permaculture designers, urban planners and craftsmen. The association is based in Rome with activities in Italy, Greece, Spain, Peru, Guatemala and Côte d'Ivoire.
The associates of AK0 have several years of experience with educational programs in the field of architecture, including teaching contracts in Italy and abroad. The team has offered experimental building workshops in the field of sustainable construction since 2009.
